Many of us, especially expat parents in Shanghai, still remember the tragic ending of Mehmet, the three-year-old British/Turkey boy who passed away in 2013. When I read the news, tears flowed down my cheeks and still do now as I write. My mother lost her son, my brother, when he was 34 and I saw, first hand, the anguish she went through. It took her a long time to heal.

What can we fellow expats in Shanghai do during a medical emergency, especially one that concerns our young children? Cathy Hsu, a long-time expat in Shanghai, developed an app, Baby 120, to help parents and caretakers locate nearby pediatric emergency rooms in Shanghai.

Expatmedicare created the Shanghai Pediatric Emergency table that you can print and keep in your wallet or download to your phone and we hope that you don't need to use it at all.
